I went back on track back to Douglas and they are such frothing bullies, it's shocking. I noticed the so-called mad biologist went off on mice when we repeatedly ask about primates. Not that mice don't matter--but we're talking about primates first here.
Anyway, it's nice to hear your views among all that rage and refusal to listen.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31512022.post-63099774403853196882010-03-03T01:10:14.053-08:002010-03-03T01:10:14.053-08:00Hi Douglas,

That's called an appeal to authority. But what was Sagan's actual position on the issue of animal experimentation? Unless that is known, you are out of line.

Animal rights zealots like you are a threat to the welfare of humanity. I will fight you over that!

"Any activity can, eventually, perhaps, increase knowledge by some degree and lead to 'benefits' for some group. The White House was built in part by black American slaves."

Are you implying that blacks are a different species from whites and other races? If not, your statement is pointless. And you CANNOT give animals the same rights as humans, period.

"This is just an admission you've expended all your time trying to use numbers 1 through 7 above as justifications for the status quo instead of working to devise alternatives."

Another totally pointless statement. Can't you do better?

"Animal researchers have yet to provide the requisite extraordinary evidence to support their claim that this extraordinary level of lethal animal experimentation and suffering is justified. It's their case to make. Thus far they have failed to make it, nor have they even really tried. It's the lack of trying that gets me. In the end researchers need to convince the public. And to do that, researchers must accept they have an obligation to do so. If they do not wish to fulfill this obligation they can stop doing the lethal research. Nobody is forcing them to do it."

I think you are probably lying outright here. Are you sure you really know what you are talking about? Don't you know that animal researchers have to publish their data and how they got their data for the purpose of peer review? Go to an actual animal research lab and actually TALK to the researchers about their work! Do NOT take at face value what you read on animal rights websites. They may not be telling the whole or most accurate story either.

"What's needed is for the scientific community to wake up and acknowledge that lethal animal research, especially in its most egregious forms, is profoundly distasteful to society at large for the same reason that dog fighting is distasteful."

Total bull$#it! Michael Vick was not doing experiments to find a cure for some deadly disease!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31512022.post-33169514646416619232010-02-27T14:22:36.376-08:002010-02-27T14:22:36.376-08:00Thank you for this.Thank you for this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
